In the “Collective Web Intelligence” (ICON) project, Fraunhofer and the University of Southampton are exploring the social and economic dynamics of the genesis and distribution of knowledge within the Internet. Fraunhofer FOKUS will offer novel approaches for Open Data based on Web 2.0 technologies and examine the potential benefits that may arise from the use of crowdsourcing method for Open Data. The aim will be to analyze the benefit and limits of Open Data and collective intelligence processes for eBusiness and eGovernment, as well as to create tools to enable crowdsource provisioned data and make available a platform that will serve as a vehicle to promote innovation and achieve added value.
